Workshop- 'Functional Feet'
During this workshop we will take a deeper look at the foot and explore activities to support and inspire better biomechanics. With The foot being our first point of contact with the ground it is vital we address the function of the foot. A well functioning foot is fundamental for overall postural strength , conditioning and endurance which will translate into increased strength and resilience for basic activities such as sitting, standing and walking.
During this session we will look at deepening our understanding of dynamic stability, by using the breath to further explore and stimulate the experience for a better understanding of the relationship between the diaphragm, pelvic floor, transverse abdominus and multifidus- core stability.
Level - progressive - early intermediate.
Katrina Edwards has been teaching Pilates since 1988,her passion & dedication to the Pilates Method is inspirational. She has a wealth of experience and is currently working in the following capacity:

Term 4 mat pilates starts on 23 september!
Discover your inner strength and balance working from the inside out.
If you're new to pilates the Introductory level runs over 6 weeks and if you already have some experience try the progressive level class.
Utilising your breath and activating deep stabilizing muscles we find the way to develop postural awareness and also eliminate back/neck pain.
Pilates is great for men by the way! It helps increase your strength and flexibility in a way that you lengthen rather than shorten and tighten muscles.
Mat classes are NOT suitable for anyone with chronic injuries,
you're better off doing studio pilates if this is the case.
The classes run on TUESDAY nights
Introductory: 5.30 - 6.30pm
Progressive: 6.35 - 7.30pm.
West End hall, Woodman street (cnr. View st, next to tennis courts) Castlemaine
The term costs $108 and runs from 22 September - 27 October

Term 2 Pilates Mat Classes starting April 24th
'Foundation series' for beginners or those wanting to consolidate breathing and foundation exercises.
'Level 1 & 2: Mobilise, Stabilise, Energise!' for those with previous Pilates experience looking for a challenging class. Both classes will use small apparatus, including balls, bodybands & therabands.
