Zoey's passion for moving began with dance in her primary school years, she went on to study at The Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School from years 7 - 10, and completed a further three years full time at the Australian Ballet School. Zoe moved straight into the Australian Ballet Company as a Corps de Ballet dancer. During her 4 year tenure with the Company, she had many wonderful opportunities & experienced some wonderful repertoire. However, after acquiring a chronic knee injury during this period in the company, Zoey's motivation and inspiration changed.
Leaving the dancing world, her direction shifted toward Pilates and rehabilitation of the body. Zoey became a qualified Pilates Instructor with the Australian Pilates Method Association and subsequently managed, owned and taught at a Pilates Studio in East Melbourne for 6 years.Zoey has attended many workshops & conferences in Pilates specific ongoing education, which has provided her with a broad experience of techniques, styles & applications.
Zoey's teaching style is highly focused on technique with importance given to flow & the client's own understanding of movement. Her classes are designed to functionally 'free up' the body and mobilise areas of stiffness, whilst learning to stabilise & gain strength where needed. Her aim is for everyone to enjoy their class, to feel relaxed enough to be themselves, & to have confidence in their teacher knowing their personal preferences & necessary limitations. This allows the client to feel supported through their movement experience with attentive guidance & individually catered programming.
